Bike Tour Parenzana
Parenzana was a narrow gauge railway which connected Trieste with Porec, operating from 1902 until 1935 and was eliminated due to unprofitability, because of cheaper and faster road transportation.
Being aware of the fabulous trail’s beauty, interwoven into mild Istrian landscape, numerous passionate walkers, researchers, cyclists and nature lovers pointed out the potential that Parenzana could develop by means of an adequate revitalization.
Tour description:
Transfer to Buje, cycling to Groznjan a small Istrian town of great cultural heritage, in a more recent history known as the “Town of Artists”, our starting point located 40 km from Poreč, 70 km from Rovinj, 85 km from Pula.
There follows a short ride along Grožnjan’s narrow and cobbled streets. We will continue our route on Parenzana with a beautiful view to the Mirna valley. Through tunnels and bridges, the road will take us to Livade.
